…Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails.

Salaams Everyone,

Opportunities don’t just happen. Opportunities are what you create. It’s all up to you. When people do well, it’s because of their actions, hard-work, efforts and time. When you are doing well it’s about your achievements, it’s about what you want. I don’t think enough people understand that. Self belief and belief in God; together these are the foundations of positivity. You have to strive towards your goals, dreams and life in general with a positive approach. Every day is a  new day and one should thrive towards each day with a positive attitude. You can run the day rather than the day run you.

  • “That man can have nothing but what he strives for; That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete.” (Quran- An-Najm, 53:39-41)

Know what it is that you want to do in life, consider how you are going to go about doing it; the opportunities that you will pursue and then take action and make it happen. Be absolutely resilient in your determination in achieving your dreams. Having a positive attitude means you are already half-way there. I believe the best motivation comes from within. Always believe in yourself, do your best and place your trust in Allah (SWT). Ultimately, it is Allah (SWT) that rewards us with success. “Wa ma tawfiqi illa billah: success is only through Allah (SWT).” You will reap the rewards of your hard-work, efforts and time, inshaAllah. 🙂

Reminder: Don’t be part of the crowd, always be that person who stands out in the crowd.

Ramadan 2014- Be Productive!

Salaams Everyone,

Thank you for stopping by my Blog! I hope you all enjoy reading the Article I have written. Follow my Blog: FaithIsWhereTheHeartIs – Type in your E-mail address & Click the ‘Follow’ button.

Right now I feel spiritually content and focussed in life, Alhamdulillah. Furthermore, with 7 days until Ramadan 2014, I can already sense that ‘Ramadan’ feeling within my Heart.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) explained that Ramadan is a month whose beginning is Mercy, whose middle is Forgiveness and whose end is freedom from the Hellfire. This makes it an excellent time and opportunity to ask God for His Forgiveness. It’s also a great time to open our Hearts by forgiving others. Let us use these days before the start of Ramadan and the days during Ramadan to open our Hearts to those who have wronged us and forgive them as we ask Allah (SWT) to forgive us.

  • The month of Ramadan (is that) in which was revealed the Quran, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights (the new moon of) the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey- then an equal number of other days (are to be made up). Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and (wants) for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that (to) which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful. (Quran- Al-Baqara, 2:185)

My Ramadan preparation starts today and this involves learning the Duas that one should recite at the start of the Fast and when opening the Fast. Here are the two Duas that everyone should aim to learn/ simply refresh their memory of these Duas. #Ramadan2014

The following Duas are recited at the start and end of each Fast to indicate and affirm the intention of the Fast:

Dua at the start of the Fast- (Suhoor)

Dua (Suhoor)

  • “Wa bisawmi ghadinn nawaiytu min shahri Ramadan.”
  • “I intend to keep the Fast for tomorrow in the month of Ramadan.”

Dua when opening the Fast- (Iftaar)

Dua (Iftaar)

  • “Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa bika aamantu wa alayka tawakkaltu wa ala rizq-ika-aftartu.”
  • “Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You and I put my trust in You and I break my Fast with Your sustenance.”

My next Blog Post ‘Ramadan 2014- Be in it to win it!’ will be up soon, inshaAllah. It will contain some very useful practical tips to help towards productive preparation for Ramadan.

It would be nice to hear what all of you are doing in preparation for this blessed month? Let me know by using the hash-tag ‘Ramadan2014’ in the comments box. 🙂

Reminder: One of the distinguishing features of Ramadan is Forgiveness.
